We are happy to share what we have been working on alongside the clustering features released with version 2.0. The upcoming release of LavinMQ 2.1 will include support for MQTT!

Clustering Support

LavinMQ v2.0 brought one of the most requested features—clustering support! Now, you can scale across multiple nodes for better availability and fault tolerance. Whether you’re managing a small setup or a large distributed system, LavinMQ’s clustering makes it easier to meet your needs.

Hackathons and conferences

This year, we organized two hackathons and attended several conferences, connecting with developers and sharing the latest on LavinMQ. It was great meeting you and seeing so many of you contribute to new features, integrations, and use cases. A big thanks to everyone who joined in!

If you’d like us to discuss LavinMQ at your organization or an event in your city, just let me know. I’ll do my best to make it happen!

New website design

Earlier this year, we launched a completely redesigned website! With a modern look and a user-friendly layout, it’s now easier to explore LavinMQ’s features, access resources, and stay updated with the latest news.

More design news is to be expected shortly

Upcoming features

The journey doesn’t stop here! We have a lot of exciting features lined up, designed to improve LavinMQ’s capabilities and performance further:

  1. Growing our features

We will continue to improve LavinMQ’s clustering capabilities and streaming support, among other features.

  2. MQTT support

LavinMQ is already trusted by IoT applications to handle many connections and long queues. We will introduce MQTT support soon, further solidifying LavinMQ’s role as an IoT hub for millions of devices.

  3. Updated documentation and documentation design

We’re refreshing our documentation, focusing on clarity and accessibility, making it even easier to understand and read.

  4. Multi-threading support

Performance remains our top priority. The upcoming support for multi-threading in Crystal will open even more possibilities for LavinMQ’s speed and efficiency. We’re already working on ensuring thread safety within LavinMQ, aiming to release a version that takes full advantage of multi-threading as quickly as possible.

  5. OAuth2 Integration

As part of our commitment to security, we are exploring OAuth2 support, mainly for enterprise users who need an extra layer of privacy and authentication. This feature will enhance LavinMQ’s security, making it an even more appealing choice for organizations with strict security requirements.

Looking forward to 2025

What a year it’s been! We’ve made incredible progress in 2024, and we’re just getting started. The features and improvements will only make LavinMQ an even better choice for messaging and streaming.

A huge thank you to everyone in our growing community. Your feedback, support, and passion are what keep us pushing forward. Here’s to more growth, new features, and even more success in 2025!
