If your company develops IT solutions in-house, is a SaaS company that manages some or all of its underlying architecture, or is an IT consultancy looking to expand its knowledge base, this summit is for you. Meet key members of the LavinMQ team, network with regional companies and students, and learn something new. Why not turn it into a team-building day for your colleagues?

You don't need to be an expert—even basic programming skills and/or a passion for innovation are enough. How to get there
Coming from another city? We’ll cover your travel costs if you travel by bus. Just keep your receipt and we’ll reimburse you!
Teams
At our hackathons, software developers, AI experts, innovative and creative minds, and process experts come together to explore how to optimize business processes using message queueing, AI, and other powerful technologies — all within a fun and inspiring environment.
We will admit 15 teams.
Team size: No limit!
Team Composition: Teams must have at least two members that cover insights in AI, back-end, front-end and user experience expertise. If you are lacking one of these we will help you find what you need.
Experts will be on site to offer ideas, guidance, and feedback to all teams
Solo applicants: Just apply and we will assign you to a team.
Already got a team? Make sure every member registers individually and specifies the team they belong to. This helps us understand who belongs to each team and ensures we can communicate effectively with all participants.

Respect, welcome, and collaboration are the cornerstones of this event. We celebrate diversity and the sharing of knowledge and experiences. Abusive behavior will not be tolerated. Let's uplift and inspire each other, focusing on learning together rather than competing.

This year's hackathon features three challenges exploring different ways technology can be used to solve real-world problems.
The challenges will be revealed at the start of the hackathon, so you'll have the full day to come up with an idea, build your solution, and prepare your presentation.

Message Broking in Action by LavinMQ
Explore ideas and reason about how messaging could be used to solve a problem.
No previous experience with LavinMQ is required.
For those who want to get hands-on, we'll provide a step-by-step tutorial where you can work with temperature and humidity sensors and use LavinMQ to handle the data.

Explore how AI and messaging technology can be combined to tackle service desk challenges and make handling support requests smarter and more efficient.

IoT - Enabling A Lifelong Rural Community, by Skellefteå Science City
Explore how technology can help make home-care in rural areas smarter, more efficient, and better equipped to handle the future demographic challenge - More elderly, limited resources, long distances and changing needs.
Use real-time sensor data, IoT, AI, and edge computing to tackle this challenge.

I spent 15 years in the digital industry, working with global brands including Google, Netflix and adidas in both Sweden and the US. For the past four years, I’ve brought that experience into the startup world, working closely with founders across Northern Sweden.
Today, I work at Arctic Business, where we support innovative startups on their journey from early-stage ideas to scalable businesses. Since its founding 20 years ago, Arctic Business has supported more than 200 startups.
I love working with people who are passionate about their ideas and determined to make them happen, and I can’t wait to discover which ideas from the hackathon could grow into something bigger.

Product Lead at Avassa
Stefan Vallin leads product at Avassa, where he works closely with the engineering team to shape the roadmap for edge application orchestration — a space getting more interesting by the day as workloads move closer to where the physical world happens, enabling physical AI. He's spent most of his career in product management, with stops at Tail-f, Cisco, Netrounds, and Juniper, and also served as CTO at Data Ductus. Stefan holds a Ph.D. in Network Management and once moonlighted as an assistant associate professor at Luleå University of Technology

Lovisa Johansson works with message queuing and distributed systems, with hands-on experience in open-source brokers like RabbitMQ and LavinMQ. She's the author of "RabbitMQ Essentials" and "The Optimal RabbitMQ Guide," and teaches through real-world examples, breaking down complex topics into practical, actionable steps.

Kristofer Stenskog
Design Lead at Creative Crowd
Kristofer has designed service- and entertainment-products since 2013. He has worked with big game studios like EA-games, Riot games and Paradox Interactive on the gaming side, and Swedish, Belgian, and American governments on the service side. Now he leads projects through Creative Crowd, using games and gamification as tools towards national and global impact. Kristofer has judged and mentored several competitions in the past, mostly with universities and other educators.
He firmly believes that curiosity, kindness and disruption have been the source of his success as a designer. -
Stina Olofsson
UX designer and AI lead at DUCTUS
I'm an engineer turned UX designer, and I work best where tech and design meet. For the past few years, I've mainly worked with industrial clients, making complex systems easier to understand and use for the people who rely on them every day. Before that I worked with clients like SAS, Zettle by PayPal and Codemill. As AI Lead at Ductus, I'm exploring how we can use AI in a responsible and practical way and helping colleagues get started. I'm curious by nature and I like figuring out what people need before jumping to solutions. I'm really looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Today, I lead IT Services at Ductus, helping customers and teams navigate challenges and build reliable services. I enjoy solving problems, bringing clarity to complexity, and learning from people with different perspectives. I'm excited to see the ideas and energy this hackathon will bring.

My name is Karl Jonsson and I work as a IT consultant Ductus. I mainly help clients with their Microsoft 365 environments as sysadmin, infrastructure solutions in Azure as architect and opensource platforms as engineer. I love reading code and IaC is close to heart.
No problem is too small however, a typical day can be everything from bringing new exciting solutions to life while next project involves finetuning Outlook signatures.
Outside of work I tend to touch grass once in a while, flyfishing is a passion and spending time with my family on various adventures.
I really look forward to see all the creativity and ideas come to life! -

Today, I work with AI and digital transformation in the public sector, leading initiatives ranging from AI law, ethics and governance to smart property automation, culture and cybersecurity. -
Niccolas Albiz
Innovation Manager at Skellefteå Science City
Niccolas is Innovation Manager at Skellefteå Science City and works a lot with rural areas, mobility, connectivity and resilience. He’s got a soft spot for sustainability and making life better for people, which is what it’s all about at the end of the day. The IoT case that you will be working with stems directly out of a real life need, identified in a larger innovation project.
Niccolas loves music, games, philosophy, and history. He narrowly became a philosopher, but thought “I need a job at some point” and went into engineering instead. But the kind of engineering which has a very clear societal and social good. -
